These are pretty and very comfortable and I will be keeping them. However, the buckle is not functional as I thought from the listing but is faux, with velcro underneath.

These are keepers. Was looking for a comfortable, but attractive walking shoe for a trip to Europe. I have several pairs of Dansko, which I love, but the higher soles can make walking on cobblestones treacherous. The Fawna has a lower, more flexible sole and feels stable with good traction. The insole is somewhat padded, more than other Danskos. I was trying to avoid a velcro closure, so was disappointed to find the buckle is not functional. However, the velcro seems strong and the strap fit is adjustable. I wear size 7 and the 37 is a perfect fit. I ordered these in black and the leather is supple and of fine quality. Thanks, Zappos!

great for wide feet and problem feet. Quite comfortable for those that have bunions. LOVE the buckle look, but the strap is Velcro. So easy to adjust. Disappointed in the grey color that is the reason I gave it a 4 star….sent them back, But ordered them in black!

I love Dansko’s Matilda shoes, which had cutouts in the toes and a similar Velcro strap. Those have great arch support and padding; I could walk on them all day. I bought these Fawna shoes thinking they were the next generation of Mathilda. To my disappointment, the sole in the front of the shoe is flat, the inside of the shoe is flat (no arch support), and the style is very blah. I’ll be returning these…

Extremely comfortable. I like the Velcro strap fastener for easy on and off. Velcro is nice and strong. Large toe box and nice arch support. Attractive looking with pants. Not as clunky looking as other Dansko shoes.

Really comfortable, right out of the box. I don’t feel the need to break them in at all. The saddle color is rather bright and bold. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of.

The elastic straps of my Dansko Savanna’s (also a Mary Jane style) were stretched out after five years of frequent use. I needed a replacement because these were my go-to shoes for everyday and traveling when I need something dressier than a running sneaker. Was so excited to receive these. They are simple and look great. They are even a bit less bulky-looking compared to my old shoes. I needed something for walking a mile to the bus then all day at work (a slightly dressier than business casual).

Love these shoes! I ordered the black. Not only are they cute, but the leather is soft and they were comfortable right out of the box even though I have wide feet and a bunion. I’ve worn them several times and they are still comfortable. The heels are wide enough to be stable – that is, I don’t feel like I’m going to turn my ankle as I do with some narrow-heeled shoes. The arch support could be a little better, but overall, these are great shoes.

Just like other reviewers, I experienced comfort right out of the box! Replaced a similar pair of Dansko’s that I purchased 4 years ago, and still love, but I needed something a little less “used” looking. Wore those daily for 2 years (I’m a now-retired RN, and was on my feet constantly). I have well-lived-in feet (arthritis, status post bilateral bunionectomies, high arches, etc.), and these are super awesome! When weather is nice I live in my Birkenstock sandals, but these are amazing for a closed-toe shoe. I’d buy them again.

I love these shoes. So comfortable and cute. I originally ordered the chocolate brown — but the “burnished look” was just the toe and heel dipped in black. It was very unattractive — and the photos do not look like that. I sent them back and got the saddle color — and they’re perfect.

Wine color is more of a medium reddish brown than burgandy or maroon. This pair has a fairly abrupt color change at toes, more like a color block than a graduated change.

I was bummed that one of the shoes was defective (see image).
I have shallow feet and these seem to work perfectly. Exchanging for another pair to see if I can get 2 good shoes.
I thought I wouldn’t like the Velcro buckle but it’s awesomely convenient.

I’ve tried Dansko shoes before but they were just too clunky and made me feel like Frankenstein, BUT these are nothing like that and felt amazing to work a full day in right out of the box! They’re so comfortable I plan to buy them in black also (wish you had Navy!!) I have bunions and suffer from plantar fasciitis off and on and these help tremendously, don’t hesitate to try them. Dansko brand was recommended by my podiatrist too.

I love this she’ll fit perfect right out of the box I wish it came in more colors especially in a 35 !!!so few Dansko shoes come in 35 which is a perfect fit for me.If the shoe came in at 35 in any other color, I would buy them all

THANK YOU, Dansko, for finally offering the Fawna in WIDE! So happy… ??? I did need to size down, but that might be because I’ve always needed to size up to accommodate my Fred Flintstone feet, so not actually sure if these are true to size. The arch is the perfect height for my flat feet (no orthotic required). Alegria Kourtney Wide cuts across the outside edge of my big toe (the only way I can -barely- tolerate them is to replace the insole with something much thinner) and these are definitely a dressier shoe. Can’t wait to pair with pretty tights!

I have the black in this shoe too. The brown are comfortable with decent arch support- and better with my rx orthotics in them. The brown color arrived scratched when I bought them and after wearing them a few times the color is faded in spots and they scratch very easily. I needed brown orthopedic shoes but am disappointed in the leather treatment on the brown.

I liked these shoes a lot but I thought they had a true buckle. The shoe has velcro closures. if I should trip the velcro can break free and that is not good. Also things like hair and fur can stick to the velcro closure because the shoe closes differently depending on the width of your foot. There is a very long piece of velcro. I usually wear a WW but the wide fit me. I wear a 12 and the size 43 fit but my right toe was right up against it. I returned them and bought the SAS

WIDE version is fantastic! ***THANK YOU DANSKO!*** My normal size is 10W and after a few exchanges, my dinosaur feet fit into a 39 (8.5-9). These shoes shouldn’t fit, but they do, and after a full day standing… nothing hurts! The arch is *perfect* under my flat feet. I honestly don’t understand why they’re so comfortable, but I am a happy (middle-aged) girl!

I bought these in black at my local store which carries all the latest Danskos, Clarks and other comfortable well-made shoes for those of us with foot problems. I bought them because I needed comfortable shoes to commute back and forth to work in without having to wear clunky sneakers. I have arthritis in my right foot, along with a bunion, hammer toe and a neuroma. I need good shoes, but they are practically impossible to find that are dressy enough. I work in a very dressy, corporate environment so didn’t feel comfortable clogging in in sneakers. I love these. I have a very wide foot and these fit with no breaking in. I liked them so much that I came onto the Zappos site to see what other colors they were in and bought the navy blue. I wear a size 10 1/2 or 11 wide in other shoes. I wear 42 in these. I am a long-time Dankso wearing for 25 years. Sometimes the Dansko shoes (not clogs) have still been too narrow, but these worked. Dankso, start making some shoes for us gals who need to dress up – not earth mother or grandma shoes. That would be great. In my next career, I’m going to be a shoe designer for those of us who need dressy shoes but also comfortable, supportive shoes

I loved theses shoes! They fit me well, felt supportive and comfortable, and the style was exactly what I was looking for. However, I had to return them because of the heel. It tapers down so that it is less than 2″ across the bottom, which didn’t work for me. While they were good when walking on a smooth floor, I didn’t feel secure in them when walking on a carpeted floor. I need shoes with a wider heel base than these have.
