I have the standard Dansko clogs, and these feel very similar. Instant comfort, no breaking in period. Much more comfortable on the top of the foot than the other Dansko brand maryjane styles. Love them for being on my feet all day! Worth the money for sure. I’m a size 8-8.5 and I ordered a 39.

I bought the Ocean color pair and loved it so much, I decided to order another one in Sand Dollar also. This one looks a lot lighter in color in person and frankly looks very very orthopedic and granny looking in a bad way. Very comfortable but not keen on looking older.

I bought the shoe in black. I can wear it in professional settings as well as every day casual. I have a closet full of shoes I can’t wear because I have feet issues. I’m diabetic, have a bum ankle, one foot is bigger than the other, and my second toe is longer than my big too, so comfort is a major factor for me. Most shoes are very painful for me to wear. I did a search on ‘the world’s most comfortable shoes’ and Dansko products came up, so I bit the bullet and spent three times what I normally would on a pair of shoes in the hopes they would be comfortable. I won’t lie to you. It’s not like walking on a cloud of cotton. But after a few days of wearing them, I have no blisters, my feet feel secure, and although I don’t feel like I’m walking on clouds, there is at least no pain. So I’m happy I bought them. 🙂

I purchased these in black. I had two foot surgeries on my right foot in October 2011. Since then I have to buy more expensive, well made and podiatrist approved shoes. I have been wearing Merrell Encore Ice (slide on sheepskin lined clogs) and Aetrex Berry slides since I could only slide my foot straight in without bending the toes. This was my first “real shoe” in months. The sole is not as comfortable as I had hoped. It is quite firm, almost hard, but provides great stability. The slight rocker bottom is a must for me. I am able to keep the shoes on all day and walk around, however my right foot is a bit swollen by the end of the day. Receive many compliments on the style from people who know I have to wear special shoes now. I am actually planning to buy another pair/color for spring/summer. I wear them with my skirt suits and jeans so quite a flexible style. The leather is good quality and the heel height is perfect since I am 5’8.75″ tall. I wear between a 9 and 9.5, so I had to buy the 9.5-10. Fortunately, they fit more like a 9.5 than a 10.

I love these shoes. I bought them a size larger and they are perfect. As some of the other reviewers stated, they do not cut into the top of my foot. They are stylish and comfy. My feet run wide and I was surprised at how well these fit. I highly recommend them.

I started a new job in March and came home every night for a week nearly weeping from how much my feet hurt…in sneakers! Dansko was on my short list to examine as an alternative when I got a great tip from a nurse I met: the heel of the clogs are wide and you’re likely to step out of them. She even said she’d known women who fractured ankles in the clogs. When I saw this version with the snug ankle straps I thought it was a great solution to my concerns. I was right, these Dansko’s are amazing! They stay snugly on my feet, they are comfortable enough to wear 8-10 hours a day running around a winery and they don’t look half bad. I have the black, they aren’t super stylish, but nice, and so so comfortable. No more crying, no more epsom salt foot baths, no more elevated legs every night, these are exactly what I needed. I highly recommend them!

Love this shoe! I have wide feet and I stand all day for work, and these shoes are perfect on both fronts. The arch support is great (as always). The leather on the Sam is also very flexible, which is the main reason my wide foot is comfortable in this medium width shoe. As others have said, this shoe is lightweight and has a very soft interior (unlike most Dansko shoes). My only word of warning is that this style runs shorter than the others. If you have long toes, you might want to try ordering you regular size and one up.

I had been eyeing this shoes for a while. I have them in the sand dollar color. They are super comfortable and a lot more stylish that other Danskos – great for that “in between” spring and fall weather. however, they make my feet stink! My feet have never smelled before but after wearing these my feet smell – I think it’s because the leather at the front doesn’t allow the foot to breathe mixed with the cushioned/soft footbed that breeds bacteria. I have to wipe the sole clean every few weeks and put my shoes in the freezer to kill the bacteria. It’s kind of ridiculous – especially since my feet have never smelled. Other than that – these shoes are great!

Warning: the insole is unlike other Dansko’s in that it is not leather, therefore, if you wear these shoes without socks (which the style kind of demands) they will stink. Any shoe that doesn’t have a leather insole will smell without a barrier between your foot and itself. I am extremely disappointed that Dansko chose to cheapen the shoe by doing this, as their many other styles have leather insoles. Sad.

I have ordered this shoe THREE TIMES, I believe. Each time, there has been scratches, scuffs, or ratty looking straps. If I’m paying this much for a shoe, I want them perfect. I want them wrapped, not obviously been returned, thrown in a plain brown box, and sent to me. I WANT these shoes. Zappos, I love you. C’mon.

At age 53 and with bunions, Danskos are almost the only closed toe shoes I wear. And usually it’s clogs. Problem like others have said it when I want to dress up a little. I’ve tried other Dansko Mary Janes with a slightly higher heel that ended up killing my feet, so I decided to give these a shot. All my other Danskos are 39, but this one was too narrow for me, and it looked like the edge of the top opening of the shoe would likely cut into my foot if I walked or stood in them any length of time. Thankfully, Zappos has an amazing exchange policy, and they had the new pair in size 40 at my address the next day!! And they are much better!
I haven’t walked any length of time in them yet— just down the long hall in our home. Honestly, my foot still looks a little wide in the shoe. But it doesn’t feel like it’s cutting in, so I’m hoping it will still work.

Am very happy with these shoes. They fit perfectly, do not cut into the upper part of either foot despite standing for long periods. I have a difficult time finding shoes that a accommodate bunions and bent toes but these are perfect. I ordered size 39 even though I wear a 38 in some other shoes based on a couple reviews.

I have four pairs of Danskos, all size 39 (I am a size 8.5). These are SHORT. My toes touched the end. I exchanged for a 40, and they fit like a 39. Width is normal in both sizes. Some breaking in will be required for the toe box, where the edge of the leather meets the top of the foot. Otherwise, very comfortable and stable. A bit of height without the pain of a heel.

Love these! Very cloggy-cloggy and I feel sort of Scandivanian just wearing them. Seriously. I do. Mush! Through the frozen tundra! Ice fishing? Yah! I don’t know. I am in the general vicinity of “clogs” with this, but unsure geographically, as you can see. Back to the clogs. Shoes. Are they clogs? Or shoes? I don’t know. Let’s not get bogged down in the details of shoe terminology when I’m just trying to say these are comfortable! Clog-like not-clogs. With the cloggy style I like.
The strap is reassuring. You don’t feel like you’re going to kick a clog off into space and put someone’s eye out like you do in those regular ole clogs with no strap holding the chunk of wood on your foot. So these are safety-minded clog-shoes as well. And really, isn’t that what we all want in a good clog? To know the things aren’t going to fly off our feet when we walk and act like guided missiles? Like, what if one got really wild and knocked over a fruit-stand or something? The way that always happens in elaborate chase scenes in the movies? Pandemonium! There is always a loose chicken with feathers flying too, as I’m sure you also noticed. But no, I don’t think these clogs will fly off and knock over a fruit-stand and cause any pandemonium. And I will sleep better knowing that, won’t you?
These are well-made looking clogs and I like their subtle yet restrained power. You feel like you could walk over something fairly bad in these, I think, and whatever it was, it would be smashed and the clogs would be all, “What? You feel a little bump or something?” “Nah.” Clogs talking among themselves, as clogs are wont to do. But that imperviousness, that could come in handy. A good piece of wooden base under you. You’re like a tank. Rolling over everything. Tell me that isn’t the perfect clog-like feeling we all crave.
Sturdy, well made, flattering, clog-like but better suited to staying on your foot. That’s what I think about these. I am wearing mine tomorrow while I do the luge and supposedly Bjorn is going to do an ice carving that looks just like me only way more flattering of course. He is a dear.

If you have wide feet, beware of this style. I have worn Danskos for many years, and the fit has always been perfect right out of the box. Not with these. My feet were killing me within minutes of putting them on. They feel much narrower than other Danskos I have worn. Too bad, as the style is cute.

These run short and are narrower than other danskos. The top part of the dream digs into my skin. Super cute though, but they don’t make danskos the way they used to. This is the fourth pair I’ve returned. I give up.

Very cute and extremely comfortable and versatile. I just love these shoes. I’m between a 37 and 38 and took advice to go larger, and the 38 fits like it was made for my feet.

I love these shoes. I am a size 8 to 8 1/2 depending on the shoe, but I have very wide feet with bunions. This shoe did not come in a wide, so I purchase size 39, and it a great fit. If a Dansko shoe come support in wide, I buy the 38.

Just have to add that The Dansko Sam has a different kind of material under the foot than the usual Dansko. The material under the Dansko Sam is like a faux suade, so I’m not sure how foot smell will hold up by the end of the day when not wearing socks or other kind of stocking. I do wish the Dansko Sam was made with something that’s wasn’t faux suade under the foot. But other than this, it’s a lovely shoe.

I love these clogs! I wear a size 8.5-9 shoe, and I have narrow long feet. I sized up based on the reviews to size 40. The length feels right, but the top of the shoe and the strap feel big. They’re still very comfortable and I love them, but I have to tighten the strap all the way. There’s a lot of space in the top of the shoe but they don’t rub or give me blisters. I don’t think the 39 would be long enough, and I wish there was an in between option, but I’m still very happy with them. These seem like they’d be good for someone with wide feet. The red color is so lovely and goes with a surprising wide variety of outfits.
