I have been wearing these socks almost exclusively for over a year. They are comfortable (w/caveat), durable, and good-looking. I take care to line-dry them after cold-water washing them turned inside-out. I have two color combinations as my favorites, BUT. . . sadly the brown/green combination has always fit too tightly and less comfortably than the grey/black pictured above. Same size, L, and no change in how they are taken care of?! I have inquired why this is the case, but no reply.

I’ve loved various versions of Darn Tough quarter hiking socks for years. The crew versions always felt too short. I recently realized DT makes dress socks, so I ordered a pair. I was concerned they might feel too short like the hiking crews. I also thought the striped colors might be too garish for dress socks. Neither was true. The colors are subdued but very cool, and they are not too short. They feel substantial and thin at the same time, amazingly. No more cotton dress socks wearing out too quickly! I realize there are solid DT dress socks, but I really love stripes. I’d order more Oxford Crews if they came in blue and gray stripes.

These are pretty lightweight socks. They will be perfect for casual wear, but I definitely prefer the feel of the more cushioned soles for active/outdoor use.
