Needed a sock to wear for multiple uses. Hiking, Walking, Traveling, Lounge Chair, etc. Wanted a sock to stay up, long wearing, and comfortable (not excessive pressure on calf). My research ended with Darn Tough. Wearing the socks now and it will take time to see if they are right sock to meet my needs. So far, so good.

I was quite surprised when I first received the socks how stiff and scratchy they were. Other than thick winter socks this is my first pair of wool socks Ive tried. Im used to a cotton blend where they are very soft and feel compressive. They felt very tight pulling on but otherwise fit nicely. The feel while inside a shoe was satisfactory but wearing them without shoes was unpleasant. After several hours it felt like the sock midfoot down towards my toes loosened and the sock felt sloppy.
I am hopeful after a was they soften up a bit but as of now I am unsatisfied.

Absolutely in love with this sock. I have been using Darn a tough socks for 10 years now. Mostly for a boot and winter sock. Dress socks have long been a frustration in terms of wear and tear. So when I learned about these I had to try them amazing. The last dress sock Ill ever wear.

I’ve only worn these once. They feel great , but they come up over my calf almost to my knees and they didn’t stay up.
I have the same sock in crew height and they are well below my calf, almost too short. They don’t stay up either.
My wife says that I have bird legs, so I don’t know why they won’t stay up. They feel great, so a little disappointed.

Socks are well made. . . only suggestion is to make the calf size larger. Size 15 foot usually involves larger legs as well. The foot size is good. . . calf size is tight 🙂

My son got 3 pair for Christmas and I was so impressed that I wanted a pair. Particularly, wool socks with no cushion and that could be worn with work shoes as well as dress shoes. Most sock (brand names I won’t mention), lose their stretchiness, and tend to fall down to the ankles. Some even start sliding off the foot into the toe of the shoe – very annoying. Darn Touch socks stay put, period. That combined with wool performance is perfect. I am getting ready to buy a bunch more. Keep it up.
