JD –
just overall too big for my low volume foot
JD –
didn’t like the half shiny and half nubuck exterior

Definitely not a ‘wide’ shoe. I ordered the size 6 wide and could barely get my foot into the bootie to even try it on. I’ve also ordered the 6.5 double wide and it has not arrived yet – but my hopes are very low. I had a medium width foot until pregnancy shifted me to a wide width… so I feel like I get it. It’s hard to find any sort of cute shoe in a wide width that actually fits a wide width! (untapped market in my opinion). Will give another review when the other size arrives but these are NOT WIDE so don’t be fooled.

Yes! Love these boots. I bought a pair of David Tate “Arleta” recently, and I loved those, too. The Basil boot is a lot less stretchy compared to the Arleta boots. The shafts are also a lot more narrow in the Basil boots. (I got the wide width.)
These boots might not fit you if you have large ankles and true wide feet. I’m one of those that have semi-wide feet, and I usually don’t have buy wide width shoes. My ankles are definitely not slim, so if these boots were any slimmer, I’d be returning these. So, the leather is of nice quality, but it’s way less soft than in the Arleta boots I got.
These are nice boots with the right height! I’ll keep them.
