These look like they could be handy, as casual shoes for a woman such as myself (who has a very hard time fitting shoes, because of the very wide width of my feet at the forefoot and my narrow heels). But unfortunately, the area at the forefoot is still a bit snug with this fabric shoe (and often fabric shoes don’t stretch much compared to leather) so I am returning them for the 8 1/2 WW. With most David tate shoes I am an 8 WW so it’s is why I say it seems to run a half-size small
Since so many shoes that fit my forefoot (swollen arthritis at ball of my right foot, bone spurs there, and all my life just a very wide metatarsal area) then unfortunately shoes are usually way too wide in the heel and the heel slips out, I am looking forward to finding out whether my heels stay in place with a half size up.
If they fit, I think they will be a nice pair of shoes to keep in my arsenal. They look a little tiny bit
orthopedic and clunky, but it’s hard to get around that with the shape of my feet. And therefore, I have a tough time finding closed toed shoes in the summer that are flat and comfortable for walking (can’t wear flip-flops or sandals to every occasion!). The taupe silk type of fabric on it, is a nice neutral tone; I am thinking it could work with white jeans or other white or tan slacks.
It has nice padding on the inside and decent moderate arch support compared to most flatter type shoes, wedges or espadrilles.
Honestly I am just grateful that David Tate makes WW shoes, but I do have to try many sizes and styles on, to get a good fit that doesn’t hurt — and that stays on my feet and that I can wear comfortably for a whole afternoon or evening — and then I cherish the shoes i keep! 🙂

I thought the outside material would be more like a canvas shoe.

I love the shape of the shoe, and the height of the heel. I wear a narrow, and the problem with the shoe, I believe, is the padded insert. It is wider than the shoe, and it “forces” my foot to slant to the inside edges of the shoe. The inside edges rub against my foot. I had them on for about 20 mins., and had to take them off, due to pain. I’m sad that they have to go back.

This shoe was perfect, just what I was looking for.

On black shoe fit was perfect. On right shoe there was a seam at ankle that was irritating when put on.

I am always a Size 8. I had to go to a size 8.5 in this shoe. The shoe is not ideal but will do. I wanted it for a Grecian Holiday. It is stiff and another tier in the wedge would also be desirable.

I returned these shoes as they are very stiff. One of the shoes rubbed my ankle in an uncomfortable way when I wore it for just a few minutes. The fabric is satiny, which surprised me. I expected something more like canvas or linen. They would have been a nice shoe for the summer had they felt better on my feet.

Well, my search for basic red espadrilles continues. These are satin, not canvas, but that would have been ok had they fit. They seemed wide enough at the forefoot but the instep gapped when just standing. I’m not sure what causes that…my suspicion is that it’s too narrow at the arch and it gaps because it is trying to go around more foot than there’s space for. The inside just sags out. Looks kinda pitiful. The sole was padded and felt nice but I couldn’t deal with the gaping

The fit was ok, but either the design or the fabric didn’t fit well on the top. The other contributing factor could be my bunion with the cut of the shoe.

Too wide in the heel for a narrow; the outside of the shoe cut higher so it rubbed on my ankle
Laura –
The shoes are really cute but just don’t fit me right.

Even better than expected – love the material. So happy I got these

I love the shoes. I had to return the size I typically wear and order a half size larger for a comfortable fit. The shoe is a classic casual look which I like.

Very comfortable shoes!

Narrow, no support and stiff. The heel is a very odd height.

The fabric tops is satiny and pretty, but very very stiff so definitely going to wear them with socks to keep it from rubbing.
Not sure if some of the oddness of the fit at first is from the stiffness of the fabric or the position of the padding in the liner, but glad it has a soft insole.

True to size. No need to order up . I usually order 11w. These were too big so I suggest knowing true trot size. U fortunately I have to send back. Quality shoes!

I am ususally an 8 D. After reading the reviews I decided to order an 8.5 W. The shoe was a bit tight. I think a 9 W would have been better.
The fabric has the texture of grosgrain ribbon. A little bit dressy, but very nice.

The narrow shoes were too wide, and the stiff sides rubbed against the outer side of my feet.

The width was perfect but was short in the length.

Shoes are will made and beautiful. However, ordered 2 sizes 8 1/2 and 9 which I normally wear and found one too small and other too large mainly due to width. Sad that I could not get good fit as really liked the shoes.

The right shoe was a full size too long.

This pair of shoes is probably a true size 10WW. I normally wear a 9 1/2. They are nice looking. Based on reviews, I ordered the 10. I will still enjoy wearing them.
Linda –
Cool and lightweight.

Beautiful material.
