Pattie –
They fit perfectly, size 13ww. Very cool, clean, basic design. Can’t wait to wear them with long skirts or dresses. Love David Tate’s products. Highly recommend. It’s my eighth pair of his boots over the past ten years. Always very pleased.

Great looking boots! The brown color was exactly what I wanted – a nice rich brown. Although I wear a size 12N, I sometimes get lucky with 12Mediums that run narrow. Sadly, that was not the case with the Explorer boot by David Tate – too wide overall so unfortunately I will be returning them.

I was looking for a laced boot with side zip to wear with jeans and these are perfect. The leather is a warm rich brown–not reddish. Width, length, and heel height are very comfortable for daily wear.

These boots are almost perfect. The problem is that the sole is too long – my heel slides up and down. I went a size down, and still sliding a bit. The leather is a bit stiff for glove leather. But the look is great and width is perfect. I truly miss David Tate Relax motorcycle boots – now those were comfy!

The shoe was an odd fit. It felt loose in the back and yet short in the front

I love these boots, they are exactly the style I was looking for with a nice soft leather. I think the medium width is best for people who have medium to high arches. It will not work for anyone with flatter feet. Felt true to size verging on roomy. I typically get 7 or 7.5 and got these in 7, they’re perfect with room for thicker socks.

Love that these are made in Brazil (Not China). They’re also extremely comfortable. I’m very picky about not jamming my toes into a tapered toe box and these were great. The foot bed is strangely textured which may become fatiguing and irritating over time.. although when walking it was strangely OK. These don’t seem to need any break-in period.
Downsides…
Immediately noticed the tread very shallow so will wear down smooth in no time. It’s also printed off-center which feels … kinda really cheap. pictures do them favors (in my opinion) these need eyelets; looking at them feels like looking at someone in desperate need of some mascara.
Waterproof. Maybe this is a good thing for some but to me that means not breathable.

I really did like these booties, the waterproof leather was very nice, soft and flexible. My problem was that the ankle shaft was too wide for my skinny ankles, even with pulling the laces as tight as they would go. Another point I will make is that the heel height is 1 1/2″ high, not the half inch as stated in the description.

I’m very happy with this purchase especially as someone with large and wide feet (11WW)! The shoes didn’t require a break in period and felt completely comfortable straight out the box. I will definitely be on the lookout for additional colors but also styles from David Tate although I do own another pair of boots but they aren’t nearly as comfortable as these. They do run slightly larger but I was pleasantly surprised because I can even wear thicker socks without my feet feeling cramped or suffocated.

a great looking bootie even on my large feet so they are going to look even better on an average sized foot. a bit wide for my narrow foot but will use inserts to help take up space. the quality is just so-so but i have such a hard time finding shoes will keep them anyway. i got the brown because it was the only color left in my size. would have preferred the black but it was sold out in my difficult size. will look good with jeans, leggings dresses and are versatile. will be fun to wear.

These boots are perfect! They fit my 11N foot like a glove! Super cute on and don’t make my feet look like boats! Thank you Zappos!

Okay these shoes look great! They come high enough on the calf so you don’ t have to worry about your dang sock choice every time you get dressed. The small heel is an excellent height for a little lift but you can wear to a job that entails a lot of movement. The run kind of large. A 9W fits perfectly (even with slightly thicker socks) & I’m generally a 9.5 or sometimes a 10. The one big thing I would love to change is the fabric.. The waterproof feature is nice but I would love it if these boots were in 100% leather so they had a more high end look / more breathable. Otherwise, they are great!!

I can wear these all day long, and walk for miles in them. They fit so comfortably that it’s almost like not wearing shoes at all, and are sooo cute! I hate wearing shoes, but I’m starting to lean the other way… I hope I can find more styles that fit like this.

I had these boots in the Brown color but had missed out on the Black earlier in the season. Fortunately, I found a pair on Zappos while perusing the David Tate shoes/boots. I love these boots. They are comfortable and don’t make my foot look as wide as a 4 lane highway. I have horrible feet. Bunions, high instep, splay footed, metatarsalgia….My Podiatrist told me point blank, “Everything you could possibly have, you have.” I have found that many of David Tate shoes work for me and I am loading up on them. If you have problem feet like I do, David Tate shoes may be your answer.

NOT a 1/2” heel. The description really needs to be updated.
And bc of my wide foot, it wrinkled in an odd way along the side bc the heel is more like 1.25”. Soft leather. Not waterproof. Fits my orthotics. But. I’m looking for 1/2”, so unfortunately, it goes back.

Good quality boot, it strikes a nice balance between chunky and sleek, would go well with jeans or a skirt. Fit true to size in the boot part, and was comfortable underfoot, but the ankle opening was way too big for me. Unfortunate, because I liked them otherwise. For reference, my shoe size is 10 W, so other sizes may not have similar problem.
Sarah –
Great fit. Toe box comfortable even with a thicker sock. Ordered my normal size 12, glad I chose wide width. The brown is not the shade as pictured. Actual color is more of a mousy, flat toned brown. Comfortable to walk in. The width around ankle and calf perfect. I hope they wear well over time

Excellent, looks great, feels great

After ordering 3 pairs of these boots, I finally got two that matched one another and were both comfortable. They are exactly what I was looking for. They are perfect with skirts which I always wear. But even after all that, I have not worn them yet. Why you may ask? Because they squeak like crazy! Every time I bend my ankle, the leather squeaks. Everyone will know I’m coming into the room, so I better make sure never to be late. I’m going to wear them around the house to see if that noise goes away before I make my final decision to keep them.
Mary –
At first these were a little stiff, but once I broke them in after wearing them a couple of times they were glorious. But now, after not long, the bottoms of the soles are coming off and the heels got kind of beaten up because they’re soft? I am super bummed because I LOVE them and I don’t think they’re available in my size any longer, but it’s difficult to justify the price for 3-4 months of wearing them (and certainly not every day).
Christine –
I was searching for a less-chunky lace up bootie and these fit the bill perfectly. I have a lot of trouble finding shoes that fit and not only do these fit but they are extremely comfortable (walked 1.5 miles for the first wear and over 6 miles for the second wear and they were super comfy both times). My feet are wide at the toe box and I have a narrow heel and skinny ankles. I’m usually between a 6 and 6.5. These boots in size 6 fit very well for both length and width, and I was able to tighten the laces to get a better (but not perfect) fit in the ankle area. I had no issues with the heel slipping off (which I usually struggle with, even with boots). The only issues I’ll mention are that the toe are is very stiff at first, and the leather squeaks in quiet indoor settings (I can’t hear it outdoors at all).

Nice Quality Boots was not wide enough for my feet unfortunately.

Beautiful looks, feels good on my foot.

The fit and size were fine, but the construction is terrible. I received the boots in January and by March, the material on the heels is peeling and the bottoms of both heels are coming off. In addition, some of the stitching has come loose. Considering how expensive the boots were, I am incredibly disappointed. I would not recommend purchasing these shoes or from the manufacturer.
Eve –
Comfortable and supportive and kinda cute BUT the ankle circumference is 15″ around on a 13WW, which is not so cute.
